Eliminating microcystin in an Ohio water treatment plant
In late 2017 the City of Marysville in north central Ohio experienced its first Harmful Algae Bloom (HAB). After evaluating various alternatives with its Engineer, the city selected EarthTec to control microcystin-related issues resulting from algae growth in its surface water reservoir.
Geosmin reduction by algaecide application
Field data from an Oklahoma drinking water utility were analyzed for the effects of EarthTec on geosmin concentrations in the water traveling by pipeline from the source lake to a water treatment plant. The data show that geosmin already present in the raw water is reduced more during periods of applying EarthTec than when not.
